Leathergoods testing services are only available to SATRA members.
Services available
SATRA can test all types of leather and leathergoods, including clothing accessories, luggage, bags and briefcases, gloves, wallet, belts and watch-straps. We undertake tests for:
- Strength, durability, tear and abrasion resistance of materials
- Strength of handles, straps, strap attachments and buckles
- Strength of sewn seams
- Colour fastness to perspiration, rubbing etc
- Freedom from restricted substances
We also have a range of specific tests to assess the durability of luggage and briefcases, including snatch and impact drop tests as well as a rolling road test for wheeled luggage.
In all cases, results of tests can be assessed against company specifications or SATRA's own performance guidelines
