On the 2nd July and the 7th October, SATRA will be hosting one-day seminars to discuss the testing of toys to the European Toy Safety Directive (2009/48/EC).

The seminar will outline the requirements of the Directive and the information that should be included within a technical file. A practical risk assessment session, discussing hazards associated with specific toys and children’s products, will conclude the morning session before a complimentary buffet lunch.

The afternoon presentations will provide details and demonstrations of the testing methods in the EN 71 series of standards, discuss when toy testing is considered appropriate due diligence for non-toy items and provide a very brief introduction to the REACH (1907/2006) legislation.

This seminar is essential for those manufacturing or importing toys and novelty products including gifts that are appealing to children and that might have play value.

An optional tour of SATRA’s facilities and individual consultation sessions are available at the end of the seminar. Delegates are welcome to bring along their own examples which can form part of individual discussions or the morning group discussions.
