Austin Simmons Chief Executive Austin became CEO in July 2009 after close involvement in developing corporate strategy and initiatives across SATRA's consumer and industrial product sectors as deputy chief executive for three years. Austin is chairman of the SATRA China Advisory Board. He joined SATRA in 1996 and has a background in consumer products research and testing. He joined SATRA in 2009 after extensive board level experience in a number of industries. Lynne Brent Divisional Manager Footwear Lynne is responsible for the general management and operation of SATRA's footwear and production systems business units. She re-joined SATRA in 2003 and has an extensive background in both footwear manufacturing and testing. Lynne Brent Divisional Manager Footwear	Mark Southam Section Leader Footwear Testing Mark is responsible SATRA's Footwear Testing Team which looks after the physical testing of all materials, components and complete footwear. He joined SATRA in 1977 and since then has been involved in a diverse range of work areas from testing fashion footwear to chainsaw protective clothing and also on-site health and safety monitoring. Mark Southam Section Leader Footwear Testing	Lee Lythgoe Section Leader Quality & Systems SATRA’s quality and systems teams help raise quality, brand reputation and, ultimately, market demand while reducing waste, cost and impact on the environment. The teams are also responsible for providing a wide range of laboratory accreditation, quality assurance and consultancy services, as well as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification. Lee joined SATRA in 2002 as a consultant and is now responsible for quality services and production efficiency systems. Peter Allen Divisional Manager Engineering Peter is responsible for the general management and operation of SATRA's research, engineering and test equipment business units. A chartered mechanical engineer, he joined SATRA in 2009 after wide ranging senior management experience in research, design, development, sales and manufacturing, including project managing multi-partner projects in the EU & Middle East. He joined SATRA in 1978. A qualified engineer and manager, he has wide knowledge and experience of managing diverse engineering companies and joined SATRA in 2006. He is a member of a number of standardisation committees and provides SATRA’s lead with respect to the European REACH directive. He joined SATRA in 1996. Christine Ohren-Bird Divisional Manager Consumer Products Christine is responsible for the general management and operation of SATRA's general consumer products business units. She is President of the Society of Leather Technologists and Chemists. She joined SATRA in 2009 and has a wide-ranging background in product and materials testing and management within tanneries. Christine Ohren-Bird Divisional Manager Consumer Products	Pete Doughty Business Manager Protective Clothing and Safety Products Pete is responsible for all protective clothing (PPE) and safety products testing and CE marking and he sits on and chairs a number of standards technical committees and European working groups. He joined SATRA in 1986 and has been involved with research projects, test method development and for the last 15 years testing and certification of PPE. Pete Doughty Business Manager Protective Clothing and Safety Products	Jackie Glasspool Business Manager Furniture & Floorcoverings Jackie leads a team delivering floorcoverings and construction products testing and expertise to manufacturers, architects, construction companies and public organisations. She is a recognised environmental and quality systems auditor and part of the SATRA factory production control audit team. She joined SATRA in 1999. She joined SATRA in 2010 bringing with her in-depth knowledge of textile testing. Liz Mawby Section Leader Cleaning Technology	Pam Turbert Section Leader Dry Cleaning Pam ensures the delivery of basic and advanced training for manufacturers, retailers and universities within the dry cleaning industry.
