Floorcoverings Testing
SATRA conducts a wide range of floorcoverings testing and evaluation, inlusing slip testing, to ensure that it is safe to use and fit for purpose and meets appropriate industry specifications. A comprehensive floorcoverings testing and performance evaluation service is available for all types of flooring in both the domestic and commercial sectors. We can test to UK, European and International standards. SATRA is a Notified Body for EN 14041: 2005, and can assist in CE marking requirements under the Construction Products Directive (89/106/EEC).

SATRA's unique expertise on slip resistance, including slip testing and on-site analysis, can benefit floorcoverings suppliers and users - training, advice and guidance on safety issues is available.
SATRA also undertakes research in the flooring sector with developments such as the biomechanical wear tester, replicating life cycle analysis for wear and physical properties - such as slip resistance - over time.
With SATRA's broad background in other consumer and industrial products, we can provide access to other relevant technologies such as cleaning. SATRA is a one-stop shop for the floorcoverings sector.
Facilities
SATRA's comprehensive physical, chemical, environmental and flammability testing facilities are used to evaluate all types of flooring. Specific equipment for carpet testing includes; Vetterman Drum, Hexapod, Lisson Tretrad abrasion, Kappasoil test, Castor chair test and static electricity testing. We also have a unique test for measuring the slip resistance properties of floor surfaces in situ.
