Building a database of reusable information

SATRAData software manages all aspects of labour costing. It is tailored for the footwear industry, but can be used in any industry where there is a requirement for accurate predictions of production times and labour costs.

The system produces achievable times without the need for a detailed knowledge of time study, as SATRAData is supplied with a database preloaded with standard element times. A digitising tablet is included in the package to enter paths for actions such as stitching, skiving, cementing and folding.

Users gradually build up a fully reusable database, detailing how products are assembled. This includes digitised paths, all the operations which are needed to manufacture the product and which of those operations are needed for each product. The data in the centralised knowledge base becomes a corporate asset.

Once the manufacturing details for each product are in the database, the software can calculate accurate estimates of time and labour costs. Since the standard element times provide the building blocks for all values, a stopwatch is rarely required.

Support

SATRAData is licensed to the user. We include support via telephone and email, subject to an annual customer care contract. All software releases within the same version number are free, and licensed users are encouraged to make requests for new features which may be incorporated into future releases. This software is continually evolving in line with customer needs, and an upgrade path from the previous version is always available.

SATRAData is a client/server based system with full multi-user capability.
